Job Introduction

This is a great time to join GamCare’s Gambling Awareness and Prevention (GAP) programme as we’re recruiting an Engagement Lead to establish and build relationships with key organisations in the region, to raise awareness of gambling harms and help embed change at organisational level.

GAP is a new Programme funded by GambleAware to deliver quality, consistent and relevant gambling engagement and training to organisations working with those at risk of gambling harm across England, Scotland and Wales.  The Programme covers seven sectors: debt advisors, housing/homelessness staff, faith/cultural and community leaders, community pharmacists, primary care and social care workers, and occupational health providers.

The Engagement Lead role will work closely with the GAP Training Leads to build capacity within diverse organisations to reduce gambling harm in the people they work with.

Main Responsibilities

  • Map the stakeholder landscape and identify new opportunities in assigned region
  • Develop relationships in your region with organisations and key stakeholders across the seven sectors
  • Promote the GAP training programme with organisations
  • Support organisational leaders to create new processes for screening for gambling harm in the people they work with
  • Collate feedback from organisations to feed into the Programme’s evaluation

The Ideal Candidate

As the successful candidate, you and your colleagues will implement the GAP Programme by applying the Programme Engagement Strategy for the seven identified sectors, aiming to build and maintain relationships with diverse organisations and engagement in the GAP Training offer.

As an Engagement Lead, you will have demonstrable experience of identifying key stakeholders and developing relationships with a wide range of audiences.
