About Us

Founded in 1997, GamCare is one of the leading providers of information, advice and support for anyone affected by gambling harms. It operates the National Gambling Helpline, delivers free treatment services across multiple regions in Great Britain, and raises awareness about gambling harms through a variety of prevention-based programmes.

The Role

Great content can make it easier for someone to take the next step towards support. As our Content Creator, you’ll play an important role in making sure people using GamCare’s Helpline & Online Services can find clear, engaging and accessible information when they need it.

You’ll create, review and refresh digital content that supports people throughout their journey, from self-help resources and online communities to campaigns and new digital developments. Your focus will be on turning information into content that feels relevant, easy to understand and motivating.

Working closely with our User Experience Lead, Online Service Manager, communications and operational teams, you’ll bring together creativity, user insight and performance data to continually improve the way we communicate and engage with people online.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of our digital content, experiment with what works and create content with a clear purpose: helping people access the right information, tools and support at the right time.

About You

You’re a creative and thoughtful communicator who knows how to turn complex information into digital content that is clear, engaging and easy to use.

You’ll have experience creating and managing content across digital platforms, with a strong understanding of how to write sensitively for different audiences. Accessibility and inclusion will be at the heart of how you work, and you’ll care about making sure everyone can understand and engage with the content you create.

You’re also curious about what makes great content work. You’re confident using feedback, analytics and engagement insight to learn, test and improve, rather than simply publishing and moving on.

Collaborative and organised, you enjoy working with people across different teams and can build positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders. You are creative detail focused and are comfortable working within appropriate governance and organisational standards.

Above all, you’ll be excited by the opportunity to use your content skills to create meaningful digital experiences that can make a real difference to people’s lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain high-quality content across Online Services platforms, resources and digital channels.
  • Review and update content to ensure it remains accurate, relevant and accessible.
  • Support the development of self-help resources, campaigns and digital engagement activities.
  • Use service user feedback, engagement data and operational insight to inform content improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance user journeys and strengthen digital engagement.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across Online Services, Marketing & Communications and other teams to deliver consistent messaging.
  • Support content development for new services, pathways and digital initiatives.
  • Contribute to monitoring, reporting and continuous improvement activity relating to content performance and effectiveness.

Benefits You Can Enjoy

  • 33 days basic annual leave entitlement per annum (pro-rated for part-time colleagues) including bank holidays which increases with service.
  • A generous Pension Scheme - we contribute 6% and you contribute 2%.
  • Discretionary company sick pay after 6 months’ service.
  • Employee Assistance Programme – 24-hour support
  • Premium access to the CALM app for you and up to 5 dependents
