Founded in 1997, GamCare is one of the leading providers of information, advice and support for anyone affected by gambling harms. We operate the National Gambling Helpline, provide treatment for anyone who is harmed by gambling, and create awareness about safer gambling and treatment throughout Great Britain.

The Role 

This is a great time to consider your next move at GamCare as we’re recruiting a Senior Internal Communications Officer to support our Communications and External Affairs function. This role will be important in keeping GamCare’s staff updated with regular communications from our Leadership Team and our Board, and supporting to deliver internal events that bring together our staff and keep us aligned with our purpose as a charity. 

About You 

As the successful candidate you’ll bring excellent communication skills to the role and an ability to find positive stories from across the charity that resonate with staff. Working as part of a broader communications team, you’ll be adept at working with stakeholders across different functions and connecting the dots across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Support the delivery of GamCare’s internal communications strategy to ensure our staff are engaged with key updates and initiatives from across the organisation.
  • Monitor and report on internal comms metrics for management reports, including metrics across our internal channels and measuring against our Key Performance Indicators.
  • Supporting the delivery of the annual staff awards to recognise and celebrate colleague achievements.
  • Attend internal meetings and working groups, actively seeking out important information for internal audiences and joining the dots across the charity.
  • Support the transition to a new central internal communications platform for staff to engage with one another, as well as managing GamCare’s internal knowledge management function.
  • Produce our weekly internal newsletter to keep colleagues informed and celebrate successes.
